Sun and Pluto conjunct in Aquarius

On January 21st, the Sun and Pluto will form an intense conjunction in Aquarius, sparking a powerful moment of transformation, upheaval, and revelation within collective systems, technology, community, and societal progress. This is a time of rebirth and renewal, profound shifts in our perspectives, and breakthroughs meant to spark the start of a new way forward.

These first few days of Aquarius Season will feel intense as the experiences we share feel compelling, harsh, and heightened under this energetic shift. This is because Pluto's transit is slow and purposeful.

Change can sometimes feel like death and loss, overwhelming us with its destruction of the old and creation of the new. However, when we allow the change to take place, we’ll feel rewardingly reborn into higher versions of ourselves.

Back in November of 2024, I mentioned how Pluto’s movements always tell a story. When he first enters a new zodiac sign, he surfaces everything he plans to transform to show us the problems he plans to solve during his transit. In Aquarius, Pluto wants to create a world that gives power to the people.

Since November, we’ve witnessed how our current systems, international corporations, and other institutions have become both outdated and corrupt (regarding their autonomy and integrity for society) and how we need to drastically reform, grow, and evolve.

Hopefully, this Sun-Pluto conjunction in Aquarius will help shed some light on how we can advance toward a more progressive, altruistic leadership that promises to responsibly focus more on humanitarian efforts, innovation, and collective well-being.

As depressing as it sounds...this is a 19-year transit we have ahead of us....meaning we are nowhere near our collective goals for a world that carries strong themes of equality, altruism, humanitarianism, philanthropy, betterment for all, etc. So yes, Pluto is officially in Aquarius, but that does not mean we are immediately blessed with entering an Aquarian Era.

Instead, our story is just beginning to unfold. Right now, we’re in the starting phase where Pluto is surfacing all of the collective problems so that we can unite as a community and focus on solving them throughout the next 19 years.

Using real-life examples, this cosmic alignment reflects major shifts in our political and technological realms, such as the discussions about TikTok being banned in the United States and the re-entering of Donald Trump into the presidential office.

TikTok, a global platform for innovation, creativity, and social connection, embodies Aquarian themes, while its potential ban signals a Plutonian exercise of control, fear of controlled information and misuse of power, and struggles surrounding privacy, influence, and security.

The Sun-Pluto conjunction also amplifies the focus on who holds power over collective spaces and the dramatic consequences of such decisions. Similarly, the painful observation of Trump re-entering presidential office underscores the intensity of this transit.

Pluto’s association with power, control, and shadow dynamics highlights a potential struggle for dominance, ideological clashes, and societal shifts that provoke deep reflection on collective values and the direction of progress.

The Aquarius Sun reminds us of the need for innovation and forward-thinking solutions, but the Plutonian undertone signals that this transformation may come as an aftermath of an initial phase of tension, resistance, and a profound reorganization of power structures.

This conjunction ultimately challenges us to confront the deeper implications of authority, freedom, and collective well-being, urging us to evaluate the long-term impacts of these societal shifts and to rebuild in a way that honors progress and equity.

On a personal level, this conjunction encourages us to embrace our authentic selves and to release fears, insecurities, or control issues that hold us back from stepping into our true power. It may bring revelations, intense self-awareness, or a desire to take bold steps toward transformation.

On a collective level, this conjunction pushes us to rethink our relationship with community, technology, and humanity. It can ignite a desire to work toward a future built on equity, innovation, and progressive ideals while challenging us to let go of traditions that no longer serve the greater good.

This Sun-Pluto conjunction in Aquarius will carry major significance within our human history. Nineteen years from now, we’ll hopefully be able to look back and give thanks for how we have successfully evolved into a world that’s equal and fair, where we as individuals hold power as a community.
