Full Moon in Cancer

Tonight’s Full Moon is both the last of 2023 and the second this year in Cancer. This Full Moon ends the chapter/storyline that began back on July’s New Moon in Cancer. At that moment, we were experiencing the first New Moon of the Summer, and now we are sharing the first Full Moon of Winter. Reflecting on the topics, projects, and relationships that surrounded July 17th is crucial in obtaining insights into the stories we are revisiting and concluding.

There may be reoccurring themes and scenarios that we need to address and/or resolve before the year's end. As beautiful as this Moon is, it has the potential to be a very emotional one. This will be especially true for anyone with their Moon natively in Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, Capricorn, Taurus, or Virgo. Collectively, this Moon is bringing the emotional depth and capability to unpack all family/domestic issues, trauma, and baggage. Our intuition will also be heightened to provide us clarity in understanding, as we make decisions that will help us move forward into the new year in the right direction.

I’ve said this many times but both the New Moon and Full Moon in Cancer have always been my favorite luminations of the year. Cancer is home to the Moon, meaning all of the qualities and characteristics naturally associated with both Cancer and the Moon flow freely when aligned. This lunation brings feelings of safety, harmony, nostalgia, and an increase in emotions. Back in July, I stated that the New Moon in Cancer felt like we were floating in the ocean while soaking up the Sun. Warm and filled with energy, but also calm, peaceful, and relaxed. So much so that we felt like something was missing.

Now that we have found that something, the Cancer Full Moon is a time to use the strong feelings within our hearts as a catalyst to transform our lives for the better. Even though we might want to hold on to certain habits, memories, or situations, it's best not to carry the weight or burden of stagnant energy. Instead, letting them go can allow us the space for desired change that will provide immense meaning, passion, and happiness in our lives. The aftermath of this Full Moon feels like we have released a major weight off of our shoulders and hearts, allowing us to have a fresh start for 2024.
