New Moon in Capricorn
Tonight’s New Moon in Capricorn is the first of 2024. This New Moon on January 11th will bring a fresh sense of new and determined energy, lifting our spirits and reminding us that now is the best time to start new projects and begin again.
Typically the energy brought down by New Moons is rejuvenating and exhilarating, however, this one comes with a bit of intensity and foreshadowing because Pluto is currently transiting its semi-final few days in Capricorn. Meaning some endings are bound to follow this new energy. Currently at the 29th degree of Capricorn, these endings can feel overwhelming dramatic, and intense but karmically dressed.
Pluto first entered Capricorn back in 2008, making it hard right now to remember life any other way. We’ve all grown so used to Pluto in Capricorn that we may find it difficult to handle these last few days that have the potential to bring heavy changes to our lives. In Capricorn, Pluto has guided us to recognize what makes us feel stable and secure. It has been working on the deepest layers of our soul, helping us to transform and recognize our inner strength/power, by stripping things down to the core in order to rebuild perfectly.
It’s important to remember that whatever we are letting go of and experiencing an ending in - that in its place - something will be reborn.
This will be the last Capricorn New Moon with Pluto in Capricorn, it seems fitting that there will be a major theme of rebirth following this illumination. This transformation that we have been moving through all these years is now on its final stretch, urging us to shed all of the layers of our lives that no longer serve us or teach us anything new. Moving forward, after Pluto leaves Capricorn, we’ll be able to stand fresh and renewed as our truest selves.
So, while this New Moon is very much about setting the stage for 2024, it’s also about honoring our past and the transformations we have endured and survived.
